Ramen Sapporo Web

Web development for the restaurante Ramen Sapporo

A responsive, SEO-optimized website built with React for the Japanese restaurant Ramen Sapporo.

🧠 Project Overview

This project involved designing and developing the official website for Ramen Sapporo, a Japanese restaurant specializing in authentic ramen dishes. The goal was to create a fast, user-friendly, and visually appealing web presence that reflects the restaurant's brand and culinary offerings.

🎯 Objectives

  • Develop a single-page application (SPA) using React and React Router for seamless navigation.
  • Implement lazy loading to optimize performance and reduce initial load times.
  • Ensure responsive design for optimal viewing across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Optimize images from capture to production to maintain high quality with minimal load impact.
  • Enhance SEO and accessibility to improve online visibility and user experience.

🛠️ Technologies Used

  • React: For building the SPA architecture.
  • React Router: To manage client-side routing and navigation.
  • Lazy Loading: Implemented using React's lazy and Suspense for code splitting.
  • Image Optimization: Images were processed and compressed using tools like ImageOptim and WebP conversion to ensure fast loading without compromising quality.
  • Responsive Design: Utilized CSS Flexbox and Grid, along with media queries, to ensure the site is mobile-friendly and adapts to various screen sizes.
  • SEO Best Practices: Implemented meta tags, structured data, and semantic HTML to improve search engine rankings.

📸 Image Workflow

  • Capture: High-resolution images were taken using a DSLR camera under controlled lighting conditions to highlight the textures and colors of the dishes.
  • Editing: Post-processing was done using Adobe Lightroom to adjust exposure, contrast, and color balance.
  • Optimization: Images were resized and compressed using ImageOptim, and converted to WebP format for better performance.
  • Deployment: Optimized images were integrated into the React application, ensuring they load efficiently across all devices.

🚀 What I Learned

  • Performance Optimization: Gained experience in implementing lazy loading and code splitting to enhance website performance.
  • Responsive Design Principles: Learned to create layouts that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes and orientations.
  • Image Handling: Understood the importance of image optimization in web development, from capture to deployment.
  • SEO and Accessibility: Recognized the role of semantic HTML and proper metadata in improving website discoverability and user accessibility.
