Maze Videogame

Maze videogame clone

A 3D maze videogame clone developed as part of a Master's degree project.

🧩 Project Overview

This project was created as an academic assignment during my Master's program. The objective was to build a maze-style videogame clone from scratch, including the 3D models, textures, logic, and user experience.

🛠️ Tools and Technologies

  • Blender: Used for creating all 3D models and textures. This was my first time working with 3D modeling, where I learned the basics of mesh creation, UV mapping, and material application.
  • Unity: The entire game logic was developed from scratch in Unity, including player controls, level transitions, item collection, and collision mechanics.
  • Audio Design: Sound effects were carefully selected and integrated to enhance immersion and gameplay feedback.

🎮 Gameplay

The game consists of five incremental levels, each with increasing difficulty:

  • The player must navigate a 3D maze.
  • Collect coins scattered across the level.
  • Avoid hidden mines that trigger on contact.
  • Reach the exit portal to progress to the next stage.

The challenge ramps up progressively, requiring more skill and attention with each level.

🚀 What Did I Learn?

  • Fundamental 3D modeling and texturing in Blender.
  • Game logic architecture and scripting in Unity.
  • Basic game design principles including difficulty scaling, user feedback, and immersive elements.
  • Managing a full game pipeline from asset creation to a playable prototype under a strict deadline.

🎯 Final Thoughts

Although the deadline was tight, this was one of the most enjoyable assignments I worked on. It pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and explore areas like game art and interactive logic design. The experience strengthened both my creative and technical skills in game development.
